Internet Marketing Tips - Email Marketing is Not Dead Yet

The gloom and doom folks say that email marketing is dead. Why do they say this? Well, for one thing, the spammers have made it more difficult for us to get our emails delivered. For another, people are getting so many emails daily that with all the noise, they simply don't have the time to read them. Add to that the fact that so many marketers don't know how to write a proper email and it's no wonder Chicken Little is running around screaming that the sky is falling. Well, I'm here to reassure you that email marketing is NOT dead. Keep reading and you'll find out why.

This month I sent out two emails for a product that a friend of mine was promoting. I offered three really killer bonuses. The end result was that I made over $1,000 between those two emails. That's really not too bad considering it took me all of 30 minutes to write the email ad and about 10 minutes to send the two emails out. I don't know about you but I'll take $1,000 for 40 minutes of work any day of the week. And all because of email marketing.

Last month I sent out one email for a special I was running. It took me 10 minutes to type up the email and another 10 minutes to send out to all my lists. Another $500 in the bag. Can you calculate how much that comes out to per hour worked? I don't even think doctors make that much money per hour, though I could be dead wrong there.

I could keep giving you examples of how email marketing isn't dead, but I think you got the point. Truth is, email marketing is alive and well. If anything, I am getting better results now than I got almost six years ago. I can't say why, other than I am a better writer now, But certainly the medium itself hasn't died. It isn't even close to being dead.

The key is writing an email with a strong subject that makes people open, a solid content filled email that doesn't waste people's time and an offer that they'd be crazy to pass up. Yes, it's really that easy. I don't know why people complicate things. With just a few well honed steps, you can make a killing sending emails.

As I progress in affiliate internet marketing program, I realize that many people are failing because they erroneously swallow the LIE that internet marketing online affiliate program online is synonymous with 'lazy way to riches' or put in little and pull out much. Though once you master the strategies and well established, it become easier, nevertheless, it is a little trickier than people realize.

Let me tell you that the most successful affiliates go through lots of training and on-going training and re-training to get up there. Affiliate internet marketing program is just like any other business and nothing else. But for those who just come in to pull out $1000's without work, they easily retrogressed because they lack dedication and patient.

In addition to this, most affiliates lack knowledge about promotion. Affiliate marketing depends on getting a lot of targeted traffic to your website. Only then can you hope to achieve a substantial click through and sales conversion. Many new affiliates are not aware of the amount of work they will have to put in to drive this traffic to their websites.

Doing selling or poor pre selling. Too many affiliates try to sell their sponsor's products instead of getting the click through. If you try to sell to your visitors and then send them through to your sponsor's sales page they are in effect being double sold and will not be very inclined to buy.

There is also the mistake of those promoting without website. This prevents you from doing your own website promotions and does not allow you to capture the email addresses of your visitors. When you do this you will only be building your sponsor's business and not your own. You will also be decreasing your sales conversions.

Again there affiliates who don't know how to advertise. This is causing many to spend money on wrong direct marketing. If you must get the best results from your advertising, then the major trick is to target your core market. For example, if you are promoting acne products, advertising in a publication that is primarily read by soccer enthusiasts will turn your affiliate internet marketing program into failure and frustration instead of success.
